Sensex soars 296pts; NTPC zooms over 4%

The Sensex is now up 296 points at 13,477.

NTPC has surged 4.3% to Rs 146. ICICI Bank has rallied 4% to Rs 864.

Reliance Communications, Satyam and Gujarat Ambuja have moved up around 3.5% each to Rs 449, Rs 463 and Rs 139, respectively.

Reliance Energy, Cipla and HDFC have advanced 3% each to Rs 531, Rs 245 and Rs 1,545, respectively.
 
Dr.Reddy's has gained 2.8% at Rs 806.

Out of 2,522 stocks traded so far, 2,014 have advanced, 444 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
