The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 1.25 percent on Monday, as investors bought shares in recent outperformers, such as State Bank of India.
The Nifty rose 102.55 points, or 1.37 per cent, to end at 7,611.35 points. It notched up a gain of 5.3 per cent for the month and 13.53 percent for the quarter.
The Sensex closed higher 313.86 points, or 1.25 per cent, at 25,413.78, with a monthly gain of 4.9 per cent.
