Sensex soars 80 points

After opening with a positive gap of 20 points, the Sensex has continued its upward movement. The index has touched a high of 8740, and is now up 80 points at 8729.

The Nifty has rallied 22 points to 2626.

Among the 30 Sensex stocks, while Gujarat Ambuja is the major gainer, with gains of 3.7% at Rs 78, Dr.Reddy's and ICICI Bank are the only losers. 1% each.
