Sensex soars 809pts; Reliance surges 7%

The Sensex continues to rally on the back of unabated buying in the market. The index is now up 4.5% (809 points) at 18,423.

BHEL has zoomed 13% to Rs 2,325. HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy have soared 8% each to Rs 1,484 and Rs 1,480, respectively.

Reliance has surged over 7% to Rs 2,586. Larsen & Toubro and Bharti Airtel have rallied 6.8% each to Rs 3,310 and Rs 990, respectively.

NTPC has gained 6.5% at Rs 212. Cipla has added 5.5% to Rs 190.

SBI has advanced 4.8% to Rs 1,795. ACC and Tata Steel are up 4.5% each at Rs 1,064 and Rs 874, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Hindalco, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Motors, ONGC, ICICI Bank, Maruti, ITC and Dr.Reddy's are the other major gainers.

HDFC and Wipro have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 2,534 and Rs 488, respectively.

Out of 2,755 stocks traded so far, 2,095 have advanced, 600 have declined and 60 are unchanged.
