Sensex soars 83pts; L&T up nearly 5%

The Sensex touched a high of 9574, and is now up 83 points at 9,548.

Larsen & Toubro has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,953. Maruti is up 4% at Rs 739.

Tata Motors has rallied 2.8% to Rs 662.

Infosys has gained 2.7% at Rs 2,820.

Ranbaxy, Tata Steel and BHEL have also spurted over 2% each to Rs 386, Rs 365 and Rs 1,638, respectively.

Cipla has slipped over 2% to Rs 432.

Reliance has shed 1% to Rs 694.

Out of 2,572 stocks traded so far, 1,447 have moved up, 1,048 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
