Sensex soars 85 pts; tech stocks spurt

All-round buying support in old and new eocnomy stocks has seen the index spurt in early noon trades. The Sensex has flared up 85 points to 6,655. The Nifty has advanced 17 points to 2,088.

Reliance has gained a per cent (Rs 4) to Rs 544, and HLL is up 1.64% (Rs 2) at Rs 143. ITC, however, is down Rs 2 at Rs 1,285.

Infosys has bounced back into the green with a sharp surge of 1.77% (Rs 39) at Rs 2,218. While Wipro has moved up 2% (Rs 14) to Rs 688, Satyam is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 404.

SBI has advanced 1.55% (Rs 11) to Rs 695, after early weakness. While HDFC Bank has logged 2.40% gains (Rs 14) to Rs 583, ICICI Bank has added 1.97% (Rs 7) at Rs 374.

HPCL has shot up 5.86% (Rs 20) to Rs 364, while Reliance Energy is up 1.80% (Rs 10) at Rs 561. Tisco has moved up 2.62% (Rs 11) to Rs 421.

Grasim has gained nearly 2% (rs 26) to Rs 1,345, while Gujarat Ambuja has added 2.29% (Rs 10) to Rs 444.

Hero Honda has jumped 2.59% (Rs 13) to Rs 534. Bajaj has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 10) to Rs 1,030. Maruti, however, is own a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 470.
