Sensex soars 92 points

The Sensex has gained 92 points at 8730. The Nifty is up 24 points at 2633.

ITC and Grasim are leading the up move with gains of nearly 3% each followed by HDFC, HLL and Cipla up over 2%. ACC, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Tele, BHEL, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti, ONGC, Reliance Industries, SBI, Tata Motors and Tata Power up 1% each.

On the other hand Ranbaxy is the sole major loser down 1.6%.

The market breadth is fairly positive with nearly five advancing stocks for every three declining stocks. Out of 2,411 stocks traded on the BSE, 1,489 stocks have advanced while 846 stocks have declined and the rest are unchanged.
