Sensex soars on forecast of monsoon rains to intensify

The Sensex has touched a high of  415 points at 13,817, owing to sustained buying which is being witnessed in the frontliners on positive hopes after weather bureau forecast that the monsoon rains would intensify.

The Sensex is now at 13,799, up 398 points

The Realty index has gained smartly today after yesterday's fall. The Realty index is up 8.5% at 2,965. DLF has soared  9.5% to Rs 295. HDIL and Indiabulls Real Estate have surged over 7% to Rs 203 and Rs 189, respectively.
Unitech has rallied nearly 7% to Rs 69.

The Metal, Consumer Durables and Power indices have also exhibited positive developments.

Reliance Infrastructure has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 1,051. Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank have advanced over 6% each to Rs 188 and Rs 675, respectively.

Tata Steel and BHEL have gained 5.5% each at Rs 358 and Rs 2,067.

Grasim has added nearly 5% to Rs 2,572.

Reliance Communications and Tata Motors are up 4.5%  each to Rs 248 and Rs 273, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,518 shares, 1814 have advanced and 633 have declined so far.
