Sensex soars over 200pts; Satyam up 4%

Fresh buying in index heavyweights hoisted the Sensex to a new all-time intra-day high of 10,782. The index is now up 202 points at 10,776.

Larsen & Toubro and HDFC are up 2.4% each at Rs 2,502 and Rs 1,311, respectively.

Satyam has soared nearly 4% to Rs 817. HDFC has moved up over 3% to Rs 1,320.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied 2.7% to Rs 2,509. TCS and HLL has surged 2.5% each to Rs 1,766 and Rs 251, respectively.

ITC (Rs 177), SBI (Rs 926), Bajaj Auto (Rs 2,725), Hero Honda (Rs 899) and Hindalco (Rs 161) have gained over 2% each.

Out of total of 2,602 stocks traded so far, 1,493 have advanced, 1,033 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
