Sensex spurts up

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive terrain and is now firm at 16,935, up 137 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 5,022, up 37 points.

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now trading flat at 16,800, down six points.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,980, down five points.

The BSE IT and the TECk indices have tumbled over 2% each to 4,429 and 3,049, respectively.

While the Consumer durables has surged 4%, followed by metal, capital goods and PSU indices, up 2-3% each.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have advanced around 3% each to Rs 531 and Rs 131, respectively.

 

Reliance and Hindustan Unilever have soared 2% each to Rs 2,144 and Rs 285, respectively.

Tata Motors, ITC, Reliance Infrastructure, ONGC and Sterlite are up over 1.5% each.

Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have on the other hand dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 253 and Rs 347, respectively.

TCS, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys and Wipro are down 1-3% each.

The market breadth is marginally negative, out of 2,270 shares traded, 1,146 have declined and 1,048 have advanced so far on the BSE
