Sensex steady, up 145pts

The Sensex is now up 145 points at 12,770.

BHEL, NTPC and HDFC have surged around 4.5% each to Rs 2,360, Rs 161 and Rs 1,485, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has advanced 2.8% to Rs 739. ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel have rallied around 2% each to Rs 823, Rs 439 and Rs 749,  respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Cipla and Wipro are up 1.5% each at Rs 1,553, Rs 227 and Rs 542, respectively.

Hero Honda and Grasim have dropped around 2% each to Rs 646 and Rs 2,067, respectively.

Satyam, Reliance Communications and Maruti are down over 2% each to Rs 453, Rs 397 and Rs 748, respectively.

Out of 2,485 stocks traded so far, 1,563 have advanced, 843 have declined and 79 are unchanged.
