Sensex steady, up 50 pts

While buying remains upbeat in tech stocks, most of the other counters are witnessing steady gains since mid-morning trades, with heavyweights still trading at lower levels.

The Sensex is moving in a range of 7,320 and 7,330, and is now up 50 points at 7,322.

TCS has soared 6.87% (Rs 86) to Rs 1,334. Infosys is trading firm with a surge of 2.49% (Rs 55) at Rs 2,250, and Satyam has moved up 3.14% (Rs 15) to Rs 496. Wipro is up 1.26% (Rs 9) at Rs 713.

Bajaj and Hero Honda are up a per cent each at Rs 1,395 (up Rs 12) and Rs 635 (up Rs 7), respectively.

ICICI Bank is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 445. While HDFC Bank has lost a per cent (Rs 4) to Rs 626, SBI is down a tad at Rs 718.

Reliance Industries has edged lower by a per cent (Rs 7) to Rs 660. ITC has declined 1.83% (Rs 32) to Rs 1,736, and ONGC has lost 1.26% (Rs 12) to Rs 915. Reliance Energy, however, has jumped 3.15% (Rs 20) to Rs 653.

L&T has flared up 2.35% (Rs 29) to Rs 1,287.

MSP is leading the volume pack, with over 24.23 lakh shares traded on the BSE, followed by Aptech (20.68 lakh), Zigma Software (20.61 lakh) and Himachal Futuristics (19.48 lakh).
