Sensex still in red despite recovery

The Sensex has recovered partially in the last hour, but it continues to languish in the negative terrain.  The BSE index is now at 13,385, down 118 points

The Consumer Durables index has led the decline which plunged over 6% to 2,601. The Realty, Auto, Metal, Power and Consumer Goods indices are the other laggards.

Reliance Infrastructure has tumbled 5.5% to Rs 973.

Jaiprakash Associates has slumped nearly 5% to Rs 177.

DLF and Hindalco have declined over 4% each to Rs 266 and Rs 70, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 668 and Rs 1,066, respectively.

Tata Steel, Hero Honda and Tata Power have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 343, Rs 1,408 and Rs 1,035, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, ACC,BHEL and ICICI Bank have shed 1-2% each.

Sun Pharma, Infosys and Wipro have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,145, Rs 1,762 and Rs 392, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,527 shares, 2,019 have declined, only 446 have advanced.
