The Sensex is hovering around 70-90 points losses in mid-noon trades. While select counters have recouped from their losses, bearish trend is still prevailing in most of the heavyweights and other old economy stocks. The Sensex is now down 86 points at 6,162, while the Nifty is at 1,936 - down 20 points. Reliance has scaled down nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 519. ONGC has dipped 1.54% (Rs 13) to Rs 834, and ITC has lost 1.27% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,359. ICICI Bank has edged lower by 3.64% (Rs 15) to Rs 388. While HDFC Bank has shed 3.31% (Rs 18) to Rs 519, SBI is marginally down at Rs 620. Infosys is trading lower by 1.63% (Rs 32) at Rs 1,925. While Wipro is down a per cent (Rs 6) at Rs 599, Satyam is trading with steady gains at Rs 385 - up Rs 2. Ranbaxy at Rs 937 (down Rs 14 or 1.52%), Dr. Reddy's at Rs 690 (down Rs 22 or 3%) and Cipla at Rs 229 (down Rs 5 or 2.30%) continue to trade at lower levels. Bajaj is still trading with a per cent loss (Rs 9) at Rs 1,069, and Hero Honda is down 1.48% (Rs 8) at Rs 510. While Tata Motors has advanced 2.15% (Rs 9) to Rs 419, Maruti has added 1.31% (Rs 5) to Rs 411. Hindalco has curbed its losses to Rs 1,227 - down Rs 30 or 2.39%. While L&T has shed 1.69% (Rs 16) to Rs 936, Tisco has lost 2.21% (Rs 8) to Rs 358. Bharti, however, has recouped from its losses and is up a rupee at Rs 205. HPCL has upped its gains by 3.10% (Rs 10) to Rs 332. |
