Sensex surges 118pts; cement stocks rise

The Sensex is now up 118 points at 13,021.

Gujarat Ambuja has surged 2.5% to Rs 108. ACC has gained 2% at Rs 763, and Grasim has added 1.7% to Rs 2,048.

HDFC, Satyam and Tata Steel have rallied nearly 1.5% each to Rs 1,607, Rs 449 and Rs 443, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Communications and SBI are up over 1% each.

HLL and Ranbaxy are down 1% each at Rs 183 and Rs 321, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,137 stocks traded so far, 1,526 have advanced, 550 have declined and 61 are unchanged.
