Sensex surges 175pts; SBI, Tata Steel up 2%

The Sensex is now up 175 points at 14,339.

Tata Motors has soared 3.7% to Rs 645. Reliance Energy has zoomed 3% to Rs 727.

SBI and Tata Steel have surged 2.4% each to Rs 1,449 and Rs 573, respectively.

Satyam and Hindalco have rallied 2% each to Rs 431 and Rs 142, respectively.

Maruti, BHEL and ONGC have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 790, Rs 1,689 and Rs 797, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and NTPC have advacned 1.5% each to Rs 634 and Rs 162, respectively.

Reliance, Laresn & Toubro, Reliance Communications and Ranbaxy are up around 1% each at Rs 1,763, Rs 2,422, Rs 493 and Rs 352, respectively.

Out of 2,503 stocks traded so far, 1,330 have advanced, 1,103 have declined and 70 are unchanged.
