Sensex surges 269pts; RIL, ONGC up 2%

The Sensex is now up 269 points at 13,450.

Gujarat Ambuja has flared up over 4% to Rs 140. ICICI Bank has gained nearly 4% at Rs 862.

Reliance Communications and HDFC have moved up around 3.5% each to Rs 448 and Rs 1,550, respectively.

NTPC and Reliance Energy have gained 3% each at Rs 144 and Rs 530, respectively.

Grasim and Wipro are up around 2.5% each at Rs 2,684 and Rs 571, respectively.

Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Satyam and ONGC are up over 2% each.

Out of 2,471 stocks traded so far, 1,993 have advanced, 424 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
