Sensex surges 358pts; Grasim still weak

The Sensex is now up 358 points at 13,304.

BHEL has zoomed 5.5% to Rs 2,219. ONGC, Maruti and Hero Honda have soared around 5% each to Rs 855, Rs 830 and Rs 682, respectively.

HDFC Bank and SBI have advanced around 4.5% each to Rs 1,010 and Rs 1,026, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Reliance Communications have added around 4% each to Rs 1,565, Rs 807 and Rs 426,  respectively.

ICICI Bank, HLL, Satyam, ITC, Reliance, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, TCS and Wipro are the other significant gainers.

Grasim has slipped 1.3% to Rs 2,078.

Out of 2,604 stocks traded so far, 1,679 have advanced, 835 have declined and 90 are unchanged.
