Sensex surges 392pts; breadth turns +ve

The Sensex is now up 392 points at 17,884.

Reliance Energy and Reliance Communications have zoomed over 5% each to Rs 1,451 and Rs 674, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has surged 3.5% to Rs 1,020. Maruti, Tata Steel and Wipro have rallied around 3% each to Rs 1,058, Rs 813 and Rs 484, respectively.

Reliance and ACC have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 2,482 and Rs 1,145, respectively.

NTPC, SBI and Larsen & Toubro have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 210, Rs 1,827 and Rs 3,095, respectively.

Grasim has gained 2.3% at Rs 3,505. Tata Motors, HDFC and Satyam are up nearly 2% each at Rs 779, Rs 2,504 and Rs 464, respectively.

Cipla has slipped 1.3% to Rs 185.

The market breadth has turned positive - out of 2,645 stocks traded so far, 1,348 have advanced, 1,233 have declined and 64  are unchanged.
