Sensex touches 9994, now up 53pts at 9973

The Sensex touched a new all-time intra-day high of 9994, and is now up 53 points at 9973.

Dr.Reddy's has surged 7.4% to Rs 1,203. Larsen & Toubro has rallied 6.4% to Rs 2,305, and Grasim is up 4.6% at Rs 1,519.

BHEL has moved up 2.7% to Rs 1,847.

NTPC, HDFC, Hero Honda, ACC, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco, Infosys and Cipla are up 1-2% each.

ICICI Bank has declined nearly 2% to Rs 598, and HDFC Bank is down 1.5% at Rs 751.

Ranbaxy has dropped 1.6% to Rs 393.

Gujarat Ambuja, Reliance Energy, HLL and Wipro have declined over 1% each to Rs 87.30, Rs 628, Rs 193 and Rs 525, respectively.

The market breadth continues to remain negative. Out of 2,482 stocks traded so far, 1,610 have declined, 809 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.

Cummins has zoomed over 16% to Rs 207. National Peroxide has hit the 10% upper limit at Rs 7,748 following the announcement made by the company that the board will meet on February 16 to consider a proposal for a bonus issue / stock split.

Mascon Global, Voltas, KRBL, Ucal Fuel, Jain Irrigation, Crompton Greaves, Thermax, VisualSoft, National Aluminium, Sun Pharma, Colgate and Ashok Leyland have gained significantly.

Reliance Industrial Infrastructure, Gateway, SAIL, Jet, Zee, HMT, Alok Industries, Polaris, Tamilnadu Newsprint and Bank of Baroda are the prominent losers.
