Sensex trims gains

Profit-taking in select old and new economy stocks has skewed up the gains of the index in late trades. The Sensex is now up 30 points at 6,608. The Nifty, too, has shed some gains and is up 13 points at 2,076.

Infosys has notched up 2.51% gains (Rs 51) to Rs 2,095. While Reliance is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 547, HLL is trading off-highs with a tad higher at Rs 154. ITC, however, is down Rs 3 at Rs 1,327.

SBI is up with a steady gain of Rs 3 at Rs 651. HDFC Bank is still witnessing weak trends with a loss of 1.44% (Rs 8) at Rs 570. ICICI Bank is lacklustre at Rs 373 - down Rs 2.

Wipro (up Rs 7 to Rs 692) has trimmed its gains on profit-taking, while Satyam is still up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 407.

Hero Honda has gained 2.91% (Rs 15) to Rs 547. While Maruti has jumped 3% (Rs 14) to Rs 496, Bajaj is diplaying a mixed and is now up Rs 3 at Rs 1,073.

Hindalco has gained a per cent (Rs 14) to Rs 1,371, and Bharti has inched up by 1.95% (Rs 4) to Rs 209. Tata Power is up 1.58% (Rs 6) at Rs 408. HDFC, however, is down 1.33% (Rs 10) at Rs 780.
