The Sensex has crashed in the opening bell by dropping 128 points to 6,340 over its last close. While further selling has dragged it to a low of 6,300, the Sensex is now down 154 points at 6,314. The Nifty has slipped below the 2,000-mark, and has shed 44 points to 1,981. Infosys, taking cue from the overnight losses in the US market, has tumbled 6.20% (Rs 130) to Rs 1,972. While Satyam has shed 4.80% (Rs 20) to Rs 388, Wipro has plunged 4.56% (Rs 29) to Rs 616. Reliance has declined 1.48% (Rs 8) to Rs 537. While ONGC has lost 1.74% (Rs 15) to Rs 862, ITC is down a per cent (Rs 14) at Rs 1,402. ICICI Bank has dropped 3% (Rs 12) to Rs 400, and HDFC Bank is down 1.79% (Rs 10) at Rs 552. SBI has lost 1.30% (Rs 8) to Rs 637. Bajaj has tumbled 3.18% (Rs 34) to Rs 1,050, while Tata Motors is down 2.32% (Rs 10) at Rs 415. Ranbaxy has slipped 1.40% (Rs 14) to Rs 972. While Cipla has shed 2.15% (Rs 5) to Rs 244, Dr. Reddy's is down 1.61% (Rs 12) at Rs 725. While Tisco has dipped 2.64% (Rs 10) to Rs 371, Tata Power is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 347. |
