Sensex turns volatile, now down 11pts

The Sensex is exhibiting high volatility today. The index which touched a new all-time intra-day high at 12,323, tumbled to into the negative zone to a low of 12,134 - down 189 points from the peak.

The index is now almost flat at 12,208 - down 11 points.

Satyam has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 766. Hero Honda has gained 1.5% at Rs 843.

ITC and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 210 and Rs 859, respectively.

Hindalco has dropped 2.4% to Rs 230, and Tata Steel is down 1% at Rs 664.

Dr.Reddy's slipped nealry 2% to Rs 1,650. Ranbaxy is down 1.4% at Rs 515.

Grasim has shed 1.6% to Rs 2,430. Gujarat Ambuja and ACC are also trading in the red.

HLL is down 1% at Rs 290.

Out of 2,166 stocks traded so far, 1,130 have advanced, 982 have declined and 54 are unchanged.

Adani Exports has zoomed 13.5% to Rs 83.20. Sree Sakthi, Ceat, Flex Engineering, Coral Labs, Wartsila, Phoenix Labs, JL Morison, Ind-Swift, Aftek Info, Finolex Cables, Ispat Industries, iGate Global and Syndicate Bank are the other major gainers.

Mahindra Gesco has dropped 6% to Rs 810. Tantia Constructions, Zenith Computers, Thomas Cook, Birla Corporation, Alstom Projects, Century Textiles, Jaiprakash, ICI India, Mico and Zee are the other prominent losers.
