Sensex up 1000pts from low, now down 1268pts

The Sensex has recovered smartly from the day's low of 15,332, and is now down 1,268 points at 16,338.

The NSE Nifty is down 425 points at 4,783.

Reliance Energy has slumped 20% to Rs 1,420. ONGC has plunged over 16% to Rs 933.

Mahindra & Mahindra and DLF have tumbled over 14% each to Rs 575 and Rs 775, respectively. Reliance Communications has shed 13.7% at Rs 529.

Maruti has slipped over 13% to Rs 700. ITC and HDFC have dropped over 12% each to Rs 178 and Rs 2,370, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, Wipro and TCS are down over 11% each to Rs 3,255, Rs 168, Rs 390 and Rs 744, respectively.
