Sensex up 100pts; breadth very positive

The Sensex is now up 100 points at 12,824.

Wipro has surged over 2% to Rs 562. Reliance, Ranbaxy and Tata Steel have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 1,214, Rs 417 and Rs 510, respectively.

BHEL and Bharti Airtel have advanced 1.3% to Rs 2,450 and Rs 498, respectively.

NTPC, Gujarat Ambuja, HDFC Bank, Reliance Energy, HDFC, Bajaj Auto and Larsen & Toubro are the other major gainers.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 1,850 stocks traded so far, 1,348 have advanced, 462 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
