Sensex up 100pts; market breadth positive

The Sensex is now up 100 points at 12,481.

Maruti has rallied 3.7% to Rs 977. Reliance Communications and Tata Motors have surged around 2.5% each at Rs 348 and Rs 862, respectively.

NTPC, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto and ITC have advanced around 2% each to Rs 130, Rs 530, Rs 2,986 and Rs 188, respectively.

Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja and Ranbaxy are the other major gainers.

Out of 2,483 stocks traded so far, 1,620 have advanced, 785 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
