Sensex up 100pts; Rel Comm gains 3%

The Sensex is now up 100 points at 12,797.

Reliance Communications has rallied 3.3% to Rs 414. Dr.Reddy's and Larsen & Toubro have surged 2.5% each to Rs 636 and Rs 1,463, respectively.

Cipla, Satyam and HDFC Bank have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 226, Rs 442 and Rs 952, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto and Reliance are the other major gainers.

Gujarat Ambuja has slumped 4.7% to Rs 108, and ACC has crashed 4% to Rs 820.

The market breadth is positive - out of 1,959 stocks traded so far, 1,045 have advanced, 865 have declined and 49 are unchanged.
