Sensex up 101pts; Grasim, Ranbaxy shine

The Sensex is now up 101 points at 15,547.

Hindustan Unilever, Grasim and Ranbaxy have surged 2.3% each to Rs 218, Rs 3,128 and Rs 409, respectively.

Reliance Energy, HDFC and ACC have rallied over 2% each to Rs 841, Rs 2,098 and Rs 1,106, respectively.

Tata Motors has advanced 1.5% to Rs 709. Bajaj Auto and SBI have gained 1.3% each at Rs 2,337 and Rs 1,614, respectively.

Reliance, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ambuja Cements are up 1% each at Rs 1,979, Rs 717 and Rs 139, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 1.5% to Rs 155.

Out of 2,605 stocks traded so far, 1,609 have advanced, 934 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
