Sensex up 101pts; L&T gains 2%

The Sensex touched a high of 14,791, and is now up 101 points at 14,766.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has surged 2% to Rs 2,279. Grasim, Maruti, Reliance Communications, SBI, HDFC Bank and Ambuja Cements have advanced over 1% each to Rs 2,650, Rs 781, Rs 536, Rs 1,548, Rs 1,158 and Rs 124, respectively.

Hindalco, Cipla and Ranbaxy are the other major gainers.
