Sensex up 101pts; Reliance surges 4%

The Sensex surged to a high of 9422, and is now up 101 points at 9412.

Reliance touched a high of Rs 906, and is now up 3.6% at Rs 905.
Reliance Energy at Rs 622 and Grasim at Rs 1,455, have added 2% each.

TCS has rallied 1.6% to Rs 1,634. HDFC Bank and Satyam hae advanced 1.5% each to Rs 750 and Rs 738, respectively.

HLL, HDFC, Tata Power, Hindalco, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Bharti Tele and Wipro have also posted smart gains.

ONGC down 1% at Rs 1,214 is the sole significant loser.

Out of 2,269 stocks traded so far, 1,449 have advanced, 761 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Engineers India at Rs 939 has soared 7.6%. Saregama has zoomed 7% to Rs 282. Federal Bank, Sterlite Industries, IPCL, Hindustan Zinc, Alstom Projects, Ballarpur Industries and Geomtric Software have gained 3-5% each.

Apollo Hospitals has slipped 2.5% to Rs 500. Mirc Electronics, HCL Infosys, Bombay Dyeing, Proctor & Gamble, India Cements and HMT are down 1-2% each.
