The Sensex has jumped 102 points to 6,545 as select heavyweights, tech, banking and pharma stocks have attracted further buying support. The Nifty is up 23 points at 2,038. Infosys has advanced 2.32% (Rs 50) to Rs 2,209. While Satyam has notched up 3.78% gains (Rs 15) to Rs 402, Wipro is up with a steady gain of Rs 6 at Rs 652. ONGC (up Rs 14 or 1.67% to Rs 865) and Reliance (up Rs 10 or 1.87% to Rs 571) are holding on to their gains. HLL is up a rupee at Rs 136. HDFC Bank has gained 3.17% (Rs 16) to Rs 535, and ICICI Bank is up 1.91% (Rs 7) at Rs 398. SBI is unchanged from its previous gains at Rs 674 - up Rs 9 or 1.32%. Dr. Reddy's has surged 3.19% (Rs 24) to Rs 775, and Cipla is up 1.83% (Rs 5) at Rs 258. Ranbaxy has moved up 1.81% (Rs 19) to Rs 1,073. Zee has jumped 3.11% (Rs 4) to Rs 134. L&T has soared 3.44% (Rs 33) to Rs 1,007, while HDFC has shot up 2.89% (Rs 20) to Rs 711. Reliance (up Rs 8 or 1.49% to Rs 540), Tata Power (up Rs 14 or 4% to Rs 354) and Tisco (up Rs 9 or 2.14% to Rs 422) have upped their gains on fresh buying. Maruti has logged 3.36% gains (Rs 14) to Rs 426, and Tata Motors is up 1.18% (Rs 5) at Rs 421. Bajaj (down Rs 9 to Rs 1,029) has come off its lows. |
