Sensex up 103pts; Hindalco plunges 4%

The Sensex is now up 103 points at 14,608.

ACC has soared 3% to Rs 926, and HDFC has surged 2.6% to Rs 2,010.

SBI has rallied 2.4% to Rs 1,505, and HDFC Bank has advanced over 2% to Rs 1,115.

Ranbaxy, Bajaj Auto and BHEL have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 355, Rs 2,132 and Rs 1,515, respectively.

Reliance Energy and Reliance Communications have gained 1.5% each at Rs 590 and Rs 518, respectively.

Hindalco has plunged over 4% to Rs 162. Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel have slipped 1% each to Rs 187 and Rs 834, respectively.

Out of 2,594 stocks traded so far, 1,482 have advanced, 1,024 have declined and 88 are unchanged.
