Sensex up 104pts; Bharti, Tata Steel shine

The Sensex is now up 104 points at 12,827.

Wipro has surged over 2% to Rs 562. Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 500 and Rs 511, respectively.

BHEL, Ranbaxy and Reliance are up around 1.5% each at Rs 2,454, Rs 417 and Rs 1,213, respectively.

HDFC, Hindalco, Gujarat Ambuja, Cipla, NTPC, HDFC Bank and Reliance Energy are the other major gainers.

Satyam is the sole notable loser among the index stocks.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,047 stocks traded so far, 1,411 have advanced, 578 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
