Sensex up 104pts; REL, HDFC Bank soar

The Sensex is now up 104 points at 14,609.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 4.8% to Rs 608. HDFC Bank has soared 4.5% to Rs 1,142.

HDFC has rallied 3.5% to Rs 2,028. ACC has soared 3% to Rs 927.

SBI and BHEL have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 1,507 and Rs 1,526, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Auto and Ranbaxy have gained around 2% each at Rs 2,200, Rs 2,136 and Rs 355, respectively.

Hindalco has slumped nearly 5% to Rs 161. Hindustan Unilever and Bharti Airtel have slipped over 1% each to Rs 187 and Rs 832, respectively.

Out of 2,640 stocks traded so far, 1,477 have advanced, 1,077 have declined and 85 are unchanged.
