Sensex up 108pts; NTPC gains 3%

The Sensex is now up 108 points at 13,715.

NTPC has surged 3% to Rs 162. Hindalco, ICICI Bank, ACC, Ranbaxy and Reliance Energy have rallied around 2% each to Rs 147, Rs 908, Rs 823, Rs 344 and Rs 516, respectively.

BHEL has moved up 1.7% to Rs 2,585. Wipro and Bharti Airtel have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 583 and Rs 811, respectively.

Tata Steel has shed 3.6% to Rs 510.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,335 stocks traded so far, 1,437 have advanced, 816 have declined and 82 are unchanged.
