Sensex up 108pts; Ranbaxy soars 5%

The Sensex is now up 108 points at 12,753.

Ranbaxy has soared over 5% to Rs 333. Gujarat Ambuja has surged 3.7% to Rs 111.

HDFC Bank and Grasim have rallied over 3% each to Rs 957 and Rs 2,108, respectively.

Cipla, Satyam, Hindalco, ACC and HLL have surged around 2% each to Rs 230, Rs 444, Rs 131, Rs 754 and Rs 184, respectively.

Hero Honda and BHEL have slipped over 1% each to Rs 633 and Rs 2,059, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,297 stocks traded so far, 1,490 have advanced, 733 have declined and 74 are unchanged.
