Sensex up 109pts; L&T gains 2%

The Sensex is now up 109 points at 11,887.

Larsen & Toubro has rallied 2% to Rs 2,478. Tata Motors and Maruti have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 878 and Rs 889, respectively.

Satyam, ICICI Bank and Hindalco have gained over 1% each to Rs 811, Rs 617 and Rs 175, respectively.

TCS, Reliance Communications, Grasim and HLL are up 1% each.

Hero Honda has slipped 1% to Rs 720.

United Western Bank has plunged 34% to Rs 14.95. The counter has clocked a hefty volume of around 75.65 lakh shares.

Federal Bank has zoomed 5.5% to Rs 209. Canara Bank has rallied 4% to Rs 237.
