Sensex up 109pts; ONGC soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 109 points at 19,807.

Bajaj Auto has zoomed 4.5% to Rs 2,453. ONGC has soared nearly 4% to Rs 1,294.

ACC and Cipla have surged 3.4% each to Rs 1,075 and Rs 187, respectively.

Tata Motors, DLF and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 2.3% each to Rs 715, Rs 959 and Rs 750, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and NTPC have gained 2% each at Rs 205 and Rs 270, respectively.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have advanced 1.8% each to Rs 859 and Rs 207, respectively. Reliance Communications and Grasim have added 1.5% each to Rs 719 and Rs 3,891, respectively.

Ranbaxy, Reliance Energy and Wipro are the other major gainers.

ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 1,202 and Rs 1,665, respectively. ITC is down 1% at Rs 203.

Out of 2,729 stocks traded so far, 2,176 have advanced, 514 have declined and 39 are unchanged.
