Sensex up 109pts; Rel Energy soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 109 points at 19,700.

Hindalco has zoomed 7% to Rs 197. Reliance Energy has soared 4% to Rs 1,895.

BHEL has surged 3% to Rs 2,745. NTPC has gained 2.5% at Rs 243.

ONGC, Dr.Reddy's, Bajaj Auto and Reliance have rallied around 2% each to Rs 1,326, Rs 613, Rs 2,440 and Rs 2,712, respectively.

ACC and Cipla are up over 1.5% each at Rs 1,025 and Rs 180, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has shed 2.5% at Rs 919. Satyam has dropped 1.7% to Rs 456.

Tata Motors, Grasim and ICICI Bank have declined 1% each to Rs 732, Rs 3,670 and Rs 1,258, respectively.

Out of 2,710 stocks traded so far, 1,494 have advanced, 1,142 have declined and 74 are unchanged.
