In a slightly hectic activity, the index touched an early high 6,221 and slipped to a low of 6,186 on selective selling pressure. The Sensex, in current trades, has bounced back into the green and is above the 6,200-mark at 6,203 - up 11 points. The Nifty is up three points at 1,937. Reliance, however, is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 515. While ITC has lost a per cent (Rs 12) to Rs 1,240, HLL is down a rupee at Rs 142. Wipro has added 1.26% (Rs 9) to Rs 691. While Infosys is up Rs 5 at Rs 1,968, Satyam is down a rupee at Rs 365. Tisco has gained 2.27% (Rs 8) to Rs 352. While Reliance Energy has added 1.44% (Rs 7) to Rs 506, Tata Power has lost 1.67% (Rs 6) to Rs 370. ONGC is down a rupee at Rs 774. Bajaj has scaled down 1.90% (Rs 21) to Rs 1,063. Tata Motors (up Rs 5 to Rs 473) and Hero Honda (up Rs 3 to Rs 540) have clocked decent gains. While Cipla has gained 2.39% (Rs 6) to Rs 267, Dr. Reddy's is marginally up at Rs 714. Ranbaxy is up a rupee at Rs 1,014. HDFC has slipped nearly 2% (Rs 13) to Rs 765, and Hindalco is down a per cent (Rs 9) at Rs 1,272. Metal stocks have attracted buying support. Saw Pipes has shot up 6.12% to Rs 220, and Sesa Goa has moved up 2.22% to Rs 1,039. Nalco and Essar are up 2% each at Rs 167 and Rs 34, respectively. Monne Ispat, Jindal Steel, Lloyd steel and Ispat are also trading with decent gains. Select stocks have come under selling pressure. SKF has dropped 4% to Rs 133, and Moser has lost 3.42% to Rs 236. Orchid Chemicals and Shaw Wallace are down nearly 3% each at Rs 351 and Rs 146, respectively. Tisco, with a volume of over 12.92 lakh, is leading the volume table, followed by ACC (4.79 lakh), Reliance (3.57 lakh), Satyam (3.42 lakh) and SBI (3.25 lakh), respectively. |
