Sensex up 112pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 112 points at 17,403.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 12% to Rs 1,348. NTPC has soared 5.3% to Rs 204.

ONGC has surged 4.5% to Rs 1,001. Cipla and Reliance Communications have rallied 4% each to Rs 190 and Rs 609, respectively.

Grasim has gained 3% at Rs 3,616. Ambuja Cements and Hindustan Unilever have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 148 and Rs 225, respectively.

ACC and Mahindra & Mahindra are up 2% each at Rs 1,218 and Rs 768, respectively.

SBI has plunged over 2% to Rs 1,910. HDFC Bank has shed 1.8% to Rs 1,412.

BHEL and ITC have dropped 1.5% each to Rs 2,002 and Rs 187, respectively.

Tata Steel, TCS and Bajaj Auto are down 1.3% each to Rs 839, Rs 1,043 and Rs 2,508, respectively.

Out of 2,813 stocks traded so far, 1,740 have advanced, 1,024 have declined and 49 are unchanged.
