The Sensex today opened flat at 15,040 and is now moving sidewards. The index touched a high of 15,142 and is now 113 points higher at 15,122.
Hindalco has soared 3.3% to Rs 93. Ranbaxy and Sun Pharma have added 2.5% each at Rs 290 and Rs 1,340, respectively.
Tata Power, ICICI Bank and Sterlite have gained over 2% each at Rs 1,066, Rs 751 and Rs 675, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Reliance Communications and Mahindr & Mahindra are up 1% each.
ITC has slipped 4% to Rs 194 and SBI is down 1.3% at Rs 1,850.
The breadth is fairly positive, out of 1,803 share traded, 1,493 have advanced and 287 have declined so far on the BSE.
