Sensex up 115pts; breadth firm

The Sensex is now up 115 points, at 14,779.

SBI and Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has surged 2.7% each to Rs 1,573 and Rs 194, respectively.

Grasim and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 2,686 and Rs 2,291, respectively.

Cipla has advanced over 2% to Rs 215. Tata Steel has gained 1.5% at Rs 603.

ICICI Bank, Reliance Communications, Maruti and ITC are up over 1% each to Rs 963, Rs 536, Rs 781 and Rs 156, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.5% to Rs 1,980. Reliance Energy has slipped 1% to Rs 618.

Out of 2,641 stocks traded so far, 1,422 have advanced, 1,142 have declined and 77 are unchanged.
