Sensex up 115pts; Reliance gains 5%

The Sensex is now up 115 points at 12,475.

Reliance has surged 4.6% to Rs 1,150, and ONGC has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,385.

HDFC has rallied 2.6% to Rs 1,319, and BHEL has added 1.6% to Rs 2,433.

Hero Honda has zoomed 2% to Rs 875. Tata Steel has spurted 1.6% to Rs 651.

Reliance Energy, TCS, Gujarat Ambuja and Dr.Reddy's are up 1% each.

HDFC Bank is down 1% at Rs 869.

Out of 2,565 stocks traded so far, 1,701 have advanced, 812 have declined and 52 are unchanged.

ONGC  tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 222.52 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 146.09 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 84.05 crore), VSNL (Rs 70.68 crore) and Lokesh Machines (Rs 44.03 crore).

Reliance Energy Ventures leads the volume chart with trades of around 67.79 lakh shares followed by Reliance Natural Resources (41.20 lakh), G V Films (41.10 lakh), Shukun Constructions (37.69 lakh) and Himachal Futuristic (35.20 lakh).
