Sensex up 115pts; SBI zooms 4%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 98 points at 14,966, touched a high of 15,025 and then slipped to a low of 14,934.

The index is now up 115 points at 14,983.

SBI has zoomed over 4% to Rs 1,674. HDFC and Ambuja Cements has surged nearly 2% each to Rs 1,985 and Rs 129, respectively.

Reliance Energy has rallied 1.5% to Rs 757. Hindalco, NTPC and BHEL have gained 1.3% each at Rs 153, Rs 167 and Rs 1,715, respectively.

Tata Motors, Maruti and Reliance Communications are up over 1% each.

TCS has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 1,134.
