Sensex up 116pts; BHEL, HDFC lead

The Sensex is now up 116 points at 12,740.

BHEL has surged 4.4% to Rs 2,352, and HDFC has advanced 3.5% to Rs 1,473.

NTPC and Dr.Reddy's have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 158 and Rs 738,  respectively.

ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have gained nearly 2% each at Rs 820 and Rs 748, respectively.

Tata Steel, Cipla, Wipro and Larsen & Toubro are up over 1% each at Rs 435, Rs 227, Rs 541 and Rs 1,544, respectively.

Hero Honda has dropped 2% to Rs 646. Grasim and Reliance Communications have shed 1.5% each  to Rs 2,072 and Rs 396, respectively.

Satyam and HLL are down 1% each at Rs 453 and Rs 197, respectively.

Out of 2,455 stocks traded so far, 1,554 have advanced, 823 have declined and 78 are unchanged.
