Sensex up 116pts; M&M rallies 3%

The Sensex is now up 116 points at 15,238.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied 2.7% to Rs 693. Tata Motors and Ranbaxy have surged 2.5% each to Rs 699 and Rs 387, respectively.

Maruti has advanced over 2% to Rs 852. Reliance Energy, TCS, SBI, Hindustan Unilever and NTPC have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 778, Rs 1,057, Rs 1,596, Rs 205 and Rs 169, respectively.

Wipro, Tata Steel and Cipla have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 483, Rs 666 and Rs 167, respectively.

BHEL and ONGC are up over 1% each at Rs 1,880 and Rs 847, respectively.

HDFC Bank, however, has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,169.
