Sensex up 117pts; ITC, HDFC lead

The Sensex is now up 117 points at 15,378.

ITC has zoomed 3.5% to Rs 173. HDFC has soared 3% to Rs 1,966.

BHEL has surged 2.4% to Rs 1,683. ACC, Reliance Communications and Bajaj Auto have rallied over 2% each to Rs 1,045, Rs 552 and Rs 2,340, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Ranbaxy have gained 1.7% each at Rs 2,488 and Rs 383, respectively.

NTPC and HDFC Bank have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 166 and Rs 1,177, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped over 2% to Rs 735. Hindustan Unilever and Infosys are down 1% each to Rs 207 and Rs 1,969, respectively.
