Sensex up 117pts; M&M slips 1.5%

The Sensex after slipping to a low of 14,902 recovered from there and touched a high of 15,046. The Sensex is volatile and is now at 14,991, up 117 points.

Metal index is up 2.3% at 12,012.

Mid-cap has added 1.7% to 5,340 and the Small-cap has gained 2.5% at 6,410

Tata Motors has surged 8% to Rs 376.

Hindalco and Reliance Communications have soared 5% each to Rs 92 and Rs 334, respectively.

Sterlite and Jaiprakash Associates have gained over 3.5% each at Rs 717 and Rs 224, respectively.

Tata Steel, ITC, ACC and Tata Power have added over 3% each at Rs 490, Rs 198, Rs 808 and Rs 1,081, respectively.

 

Grasim, Ranbaxy and Reliance Infrastructures  are up 2-3% each at Rs 2,267 and Rs 268 and Rs 1,268, respectively.

NTPC, BHEL, Bharti Airtel and DLF have advanced 1% each.

Mahindra and Mahindra has slipped 1.5% to Rs 715.

SBI, ONGC, HDFC, Maruti and Infosys are the other losers so far on the BSE.

The breadth is positive, out of 2,564 share traded, 2,020 have advanced and 505 have declined so far on the BSE.
