Sensex up 117pts; Satyam, Infosys firm

The Sensex is now up 117 points at 14,528.

Hero Honda has soared 3.7% to Rs 723. HDFC Bank has surged 2.5% to Rs 1,133, and SBI has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 1,349.

Tata Motors and Satyam have moved up 1.6% each to Rs 754 and Rs 473, respectively.

HDFC and Infosys have advanced 1.4% each to Rs 1,855 and Rs 1,930, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto and Maruti are the other major gainers.

NTPC has shed 1.4% at Rs 158.

Out of 2,487 stocks traded so far, 1,352 have advanced, 1,047 have declined and 88 are unchanged.
